Parrot Street Book Club Review

Since we started our homeschool journey our collection of books has been growing and we now have a dedicated space for all of them.  A little nook in the corner of the room, just under the stairs where our shelves are filling up nicely.

My favourite homeware pieces from the La Redoute 50% Off Sale

There's just something about interiors I love and how the right pieces can totally transform any space.  We've been busy renovating our home for the past year or so......yes, it really has been that long.  Too long if you ask me!  Whilst I impatiently wait for everything to be complete, I've been busy bookmarking everything on La Redoute so that I can buy them before it's too late.

Living with Type 1 Diabetes

I was 11.  The first thing I remember asking my mum as we were waiting in the car outside the pharmacy, was if I was going to die.  I thought diabetes was one of those illnesses that killed you within a few weeks, or months if you were lucky.  I was only 11 and everything else about diabetes, being diabetic and living with it didn't matter.  I just needed to know if I was going to die or not because the thought of dying was a lot more frightening than anything else.

So I know I wrote the Ultimate Guide To Coats just a few days ago, which means it's only right that I talk about jumpers too.  Since the weather's getting colder, jumper season is well and truly here.  I picked out my top 5 trending jumpers you need this year and Topshop have a great selection that'll look great with anything.

The Ultimate Guide to Coats

The time has finally arrived to put away all our summer looks and bring out the coat.  Yes, you heard that right.  Tis the season for the humble coat.  We've had a surprisingly hot Summer and although I miss it, I'm also glad to be transitioning my wardrobe ready for the colder months ahead.  And if I'm completely honest, I'm still wearing my summer dresses and so the first thing I need, is a nice cover up and that's usually a coat.

Modest Autumn Capsule Wardrobe

So, here's a post I've been meaning to write up for a long time but the thought of putting together a capsule wardrobe felt like a huge challenge.  Firstly, I wasn't too sure where to start, so it wasn't until I asked for a few ideas on Instagram that someone suggested I do a Modest Capsule Wardrobe that it was just the push I needed to eventually give it a go.  And I'm very pleased with the result.

Girls Trip To London (Part 7)

Right then, it was time to get our train tickets to Walsall and with the Easter hols things weren't going the way they usually did.  We bought our tickets from Birmingham to Walsall, managed to get on the train only for M.B, A and Z.B to start getting cold feet.  They thought we were on the wrong train so were about leave until we showed them that we were on the right one and there was no need to worry.

Girls Trip To London (Part 6)

As we continued to chat until the early hours of the morning, Sumiyyah was most probably tucked up in her bed at home.  We missed her already but we'd be seeing her the following day so that was something to look forward to.

Girl's Trip To London (Part 5)

They certainly made it in one piece alright and A.B had even made a new friend!  She was too busy chatting away to notice us while Z.B's face flushed over with a sense of relief at the sight of us heading towards them.  She hugged me so tightly I almost stopped breathing!  I wondered whether she would ever let me go.  Much to my relief, she did.

Girl's Trip To London (Part 4)

How could I forget, we still had to pick up our luggage from Euston Station!  We left it there so we didn't have to lug it around with us all day.  At £12.50 per bag it wasn't cheap but it was either carry our bags and M.B's and watch her walk around hands free or join her and walk around hands free too.  We obviously chose the latter!

Girl's Trip To London (Part 3)

Did I mention that the weather wasn't on our side either and everything that could go wrong, did go wrong.  But we were determined to make it work and we made sure it did.  Even with everything against us we still had an amazing time and through the rain and just the one umbrella between the 4 of us (don't ask) we made our way to none other than Dishoom.

Girl's Trip to London with Virgin Trains (Part 2)

I turned to the girls in the back of the car and told them to pray because we needed all the prayers we could get at this moment.  I could see that F.B was already on it by the speed at which her lips were moving!  Google maps was telling us we would reach our destination with 2 minutes left before the train would be leaving.  Now that's cutting it fine.  Way too fine!

Girl's Trip to London with Virgin Trains (Part 1)

Would you believe me if I told you this was my first ever girls trip away?  Yup, it was and I enjoyed every second of it.  We, as in my sister in laws and I, have been planning this trip for way too long.  We always say we should plan something, let's go somewhere together.  And it just never happens.  Everyone's always got something on and we're never free at the same time.  Not this time though or so we thought!

Appy Kids Co Review & Giveaway

When it comes to what the kids eat and drink, I've always been very careful.  For me it's important for them to learn to take care of themselves, not just from the outside but from the inside too.  That's why I try not to let them go crazy on the sweet stuff and instead we choose to keep our fruit basket stocked up with their favourite naturally sweet fruits.

And Other Stories Wishlist

Since I haven't done a wishlist post in a while, I thought it was time for another one on the blog.  Usually you'll find a Zara Wishlist or two on here but this time I thought I'd do an And Other Stories Wishlist because there are few pieces I'm loving from there and I think you will too.
