Catwalk Copycat | Chloe V Zara

I think it's time for another instalment of Catwalk Copycat.  After the success of my previous two, I thought it was time for another one.  This time I've gone for this gorgeous Chloe dress.
It's very boho chic-esque and of course, one of my most favourite styles.  You know how much I love the good old maxi!

As usual, Chloe hasn't dissapointed in the style stakes, especially when it comes to the flowy look.  This time they've added a bit of a masculine touch in their AW2015/16 collection and it works.  Still girly, but with a bit of an edge.

This time I thought I'd show you how you can create the complete look.

The Graze Box | Kids Box

I first came across the Graze box when I spotted it in one of those leaflets that always falls out of the magazine, and I thought it was a brilliant idea.  That, was a very long time ago when I didn't have any children and wasn't married!

So here I am in 2015 looking back at the Graze box once again.  After many months of 'umming' and 'aahhing' about whether I should get the Graze box I finally took the plunge and placed an order a couple of weeks ago.

How To Wear A Floral Maxi Dress This Season

This season we're seeing a lot of florals and they're looking very pretty too.  I'm one of those people that loves flowers so this trend is just perfect for me.  But, even though I adore anything floral (as long as it looks good) the last thing I want is to look like I'm dressed in wallpaper!  Or worst still, in a pair of my grannys curtains!  So I've picked out a few accessories to give the florals a bit of an edge.

Grab A Bargain In Our 20% off Sale At Love Hijab

We all love a good sale or two don't we?  It's one of those things in our lives we wait for every season.  I know I do.  Sometimes, I manage to find some great bargains and others not so.  But even still, I do enjoy going just in case I find something I can't be without.

So, this week at Love Hijab I decided it was time to treat you to a little something.  It's my turn to be on the other side and give you the chance to grab a bargain in our 20% off sale at Love Hijab.

Catwalk Copycat | Valentino V Jovonna

After the success of my first catwalk copycat post I thought it would be a good idea to do another one.  However, this one was not planned.  I was actually looking for a casual midi length dress, when I came across the black embroidered dress by Jovonna and instantly felt like it had a bit of a Valentino vibe to it.  And since I have a soft spot for gorgeously embroidered dresses like the ones in Valentino's SS14 collection, I knew I had to write about it on my blog.

10 No Bake Dessert Recipes You Have To Try!

Being so used to the colder climate here in the UK, it's always a welcome change when the sun finally comes out.  This week, we've had some lovely weather.  Warmer weather means that we can spend more time outdoors soaking up the sun and filling up on some much needed vitamin D.

Although we look forward to summer every year,  we are so not used to the extreme temperatures.  So is it any wonder, that with the sun blaring and the heat from the oven not helping, baking has no choice but to take a back seat.  Which is why this calls for some no bake dessert recipes.

I've found 10, including a no bake chocolate cake!  Now that, is something you don't want to miss!

Hijab Inspiration and Plain Jane Maxi Scarves

As someone who wears the hijab, I know all too well the lengths we hijabis will go to when we need to find the perfect scarf to match our outfit.  We can't go out with a mis-matched scarf, can we?  I'm not saying mis-matched can't look good, because it can when it's done right.  But there comes a time in a hijabis life that a matching scarf is the only thing that will do.

So I decided it was time for Love Hijab to stock up on some much needed Plain Jane scarf colours.  I remember calling them Plain Jane back when I started Love Hijab 2 years ago.  In the early days, I had a very small selection of plain scarves in my store.  Today, we have over 40 fabulous colours and I'm still on the look out for more colours to add to the range.

My Favourite SS2015 RTW Collection by Valentino

One thing I love to do in my spare time is look through pictures of my favourite designer collections from the runway.  I always find a collection that I'll keep going back to because everything about it, is exactly what I would love to own.  Sometimes, I'd change a few things here and there to suit my taste, like add sleeves or something minor.  But, nevertheless, I always like to have a little browse through the runway show pictures.  I know I'll probably, well definitely, never be able to afford any of these but who's to say I can't take inspiration from them?  Without further ado, let me introduce you to the SS2015 RTW Collection by Valentino.

50 Blog Post Ideas For When You're Stuck!

Unfortunately, there comes a time in a bloggers life where no matter what you do, or how hard you try, you just get stuck!  You'll be all too familiar with the dreaded 'Bloggers Block', which is why, I've been trying to keep a note of all my ideas in my trusty little notebook.  Back in December I gave you 50 Blog Post Ideas, which were a huge hit with you all.  So, I thought it was time I made another one.

I found my abaya on Pinterest!

I'm so excited writing this post because the other day I came across my abaya on Pinterest!  Yes, MY abaya!  Eeeek!  I had one of them O. M. G moments!   If you're anything like me, I'm pretty sure you know exactly what I'm talking about.

As usual, I was scrolling through all these amazing designs when one of them just so happened to look all too familiar.  I knew instantly it was the one I had bought a couple of years ago from a local boutique.  At the time I had no idea it was a designer piece, although I did spend quite a bit on it.  And look at it! It's gorgeous, isn't it?

The Dina Torkia Debut Collection

As usual, I've been thinking about writing a post about something totally different to what I'm actually blogging about right now.  Just as I was about to get started, I thought, well, why not just talk about Dina?  In case you're wondering 'who is Dina?' then sit back, relax, with maybe a cup of tea, and let me tell you all about her.

Everyone and anyone I know, knows who Dina is.  But if you haven't heard of Dina Torkia or Dina Tokio as she is known on pretty much all her social media, then where have you been!?  She is a very popular Muslim blogger/youtuber and a designer too.  You may have even come across her collaboration with Libertys of London for their Scarf Stories feature they did recently.  I must say that Dina's choices were so on point!  She's an amazing stylist as you can see from the pictures below.  And if you just so happen to google search DINA TOKIO you'll see plenty more that'll make you envy her wardrobe even more!

My Recent Pinterest Finds

I challenged myself to write a post every other day and I've been doing well so far.  Although this post is a little late by a few hours, I'm still on track.  I knew I wanted to write a post yesterday but sometimes life happens.  And that's fine.  I've been joining in a lot of twitter chats lately, where we've been discussing blog/life balance and how bloggers feel if they miss a day.  I do feel like I'm letting my readers down, but sometimes, try as I might, it just can't be helped.  Anyways, I hope you enjoy today's post.

Like every other blogger out there, I can have my moments when I get a little stuck on what to blog about.  It might sound a little strange, especially since I've got my own set of 50 Blog Post ideas right here on my blog!  But, I just don't feel like doing any of them.

So, when I wasn't actually looking for ideas and I was just reading every one elses blogs, I came across the Laze Sundaze blog by Preet Aujla.  Number 41, in her 50 Blog Post Ideas For New Bloggers post, just stood out for me.  I knew that's the one I wanted to do next.  So without further ado, here are my recent Pinterest finds.

Tanya Burr's Rocky Roads

I haven't had a chance to do any baking recently and I've been missing it a lot.  You know when you're pregnant and you get those cravings?  Well, I feel like that about baking sometimes.  I see these amazing recipes, usually on Pinterest, and feel like I just have to try them out.  But recently, I've been so busy that I just haven't been able to fit any baking into my day.

Anyways, a fellow blogger and lovely cousin of mine, Hafsah sent me over some Rocky Roads.  They were very scrumptious indeed which is why they were gone in seconds!

New Discoveries | Beautiful Blogs

Lately, I've been doing a lot of reading and most of it is on Bloglovin.  I've been spending my evenings curled up in my cosy blanket with my iPad working my way through some great reads.  And in doing so, I have come across some beautiful blogs that have become this months favourites.

Everything about each of these is just perfect, like the photography, for example. From the lighting to the composition, everything about the pictures is so on point.  The content is always interesting, which is exactly what it needs to be if they want me to go back again.  And let me tell you, I've gone back again and again.  Each time, I've come away with something.  I've learnt a new skill, or felt inspired, and now I've even got myself a long list of blogging ideas too.  It takes a lot for me to go back for more, and I think these blogs have ticked all the boxes for me.

So here they are;

Catwalk Copycat | Ralph & Russo V Needle & Thread

Today I thought I'd do something a little different and I was thinking of making this type of post into a weekly feature.  I thought a catwalk copycat post would be ideal because I'm a bit fashion mad (minus the huge bank balance!), and it's usually the first thing I'll look at in a magazine.  It's also one of my favourite type of articles too.  I always like to see comparison type posts or spend vs. save ones, especially when you see such a big difference in price.  You can either look at it two ways, see the huge saving you'll make or see how much money you have left to spend on more for your ever growing wardrobe.  Ooops!

This post actually took me two days and whilst I was researching, I found too many gorgeous dresses definitely worth mentioning and I'm going to be sharing those with you too.  Not today tho, but I've noted it down for my later posts.

So, here's what I found for today.

2 Easy Maxi Dress Tutorials

You know how much I love a maxi and at this time of the year it's the perfect thing to wear.  There are plenty of ways you can style them and my 3 Ways To Wear A Maxi Dress post will show you how.

But today's post is not about styling, it's about making.  I've never told you that I can actually sew.  I learnt to sew a long time ago and learnt everything from adding pockets to making button holes and collars.  I think it's a great skill to have but because I don't sew very often I can only manage simple easy to follow sewing projects.

From time to time I feel like sewing something and these two projects I found on two very lovely blogs are something I would definitely like to try.  They're simple, quick and easy to sew, which means they're right up my street!

How to create a clickable link to your blog

We bloggers love to leave comments on other blog posts and when we do we like to leave our blog link too.  But many of us don't actually link our blog names.  The last thing you want is to go unnoticed.  You want to make it easier for someone to see your blog name, click it, and head straight over to your blog.  Nobody likes to go the long way around it, copy and paste, copy and paste.  So today, I'm going to show you how to create a clickable link to your blog.

Indian Summer Inspired Zara Wishlist

When I think of traditional Indian embroidery and jewels this is what I see in my mind.  A vast array of colourful threads mixed with mirrors, bells, beads, tassels and so much more.  There's a lot going on. It's crazy OTT. But it works!

BUSINESS FEATURE | Dzaltastic : Contemporary Islamic Products

You all know how much I love anything that's cute, so it comes as no surprise that today's post is all about cute!  When Akmal from Dzaltastic contacted me about her dolls I had to see what it was all about.  Too many cute dolls, that's what!  And along with her hijabi dolls she also has superhero ones too!  In my house we're a little crazy about superheros.  I grew up watching the likes of Superman, Batman and Incredible Hulk and I'm pretty sure you did too.

Metallic Henna Inspired Tattoos by Life Of My heart

I have some exciting news for you today because we now stock this summers must have accessory.....metallic henna inspired tattoos!!!  And these are not just any tattoos.  These are all the way from Australia and have been designed by Life of My Heart.  You may have even come across their gorgeous page on Instagram, but just in case you haven't, click here to see.

If you've been reading my blog for a while you'll know how much I love Henna.  I've talked about the real stuff and the metallic ones too.  And I love them both!  If I knew how to apply the real stuff myself my hands would be covered in it 24/7!  But, unfortunately, I can't *sad face*.  Which is why these are perfect.

So let me show you the stunning tattoos.  I think you're going to love them!

Home Decor | Islamic Art Prints by Inspire Me Art

My walls are cream. Well actually, they're almond white to be more precise!  Which is why for a long time now I've been thinking about how it would be great to have a feature wall in my living room with a few prints, wise words and some black and white pictures and maybe one or two colourful ones here and there too. I'm thinking a collection of small to large sized frames, all mix and match, a bit Pinteresty you could say.

So when Inspire Me Art got in touch with me, I was spoilt for choice. Their range of prints were too gorgeous and I didn't know which ones to choose. I did finally manage to pick a couple of beautiful pieces and although all the designs are available on canvas, I opted for prints instead.  I have to say the quality of the prints is just amazing, the pictures really don't do it justice.

Buying the frames was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be! You can tell I haven't done this in a long time or haven't done it at all!  I chose a black frame for the design below and I think it fits perfectly with the colours.

A little Update and New Scarves!

I know I haven't been here for a while and that's because I've been super busy, which has left me with no time at all for blogging.  That's why I thought todays post could be a little bit of an update for you.

As you know, I have my own business, Love Hijab, and if any of you know or have a business yourself, then you'll be aware that April usually means the dreaded end of year accounts!!  I don't like maths and never will do.  It was definitely NOT one of my most favourite subjects at school and I used to hate it so so much.  I would look forward to the sound of the bell right before the lesson even started, so you can imagine the terrible, terrible pain I'm going through right now, having to deal with getting all my receipts and everything all in order.

But having said that, all is good elsewhere.  So big smiles all around.  I have added lots of new scarves to Love Hijab and I think I can say I have the full range of plain maxi scarves too.  I have added every single colour there is from peach to purple and pink to red and blues and greys and greens and the list goes on.

To see the full range you might as well click here, because when you see the colours, you're going to love them.  All the scarves are oversized which means you have enough fabric to play around with and for anyone who doesn't wear a scarf as a head covering then you'll be happy to know that they are perfect as sarongs too!

Here is a sneak peak at just some of the new prints and colours I've added but to see all the new arrivals, just click me.

Knock, Knock, Who's There?

So, you might think that this post is a little unusual, and it is.  That's because it's mostly, well actually, all about doors!  Now, who would have thought I would be writing about doors!?  Nope, I didn't think you did and to be quite honest with you, I never thought I would be either.

But, there's just something about Pinterest that kind of draws you in and you get lost.  And by the looks of things I definitely got lost in doors!  And when you take a look you'll be just as mesmerised as I was.

These are not just any doors because they all tell a very interesting story.  One thing's for sure, they're not boring at all.  I love how they are all painted in some amazing colours, from brights to more muted colours.

Some are much older and a lot worse for wear than others.  They really have taken a good beating.  They're dirty, falling apart and half the paint's gone too.  But that's the beauty of it all.

Others are far more intricate, with lots of carefully thought out detail and beautiful craftsmanship to match.  Each one is decorated perfectly.  Then there are those that are a lot more specific, with straight lines and clean shapes.  And with nothing out of place.

Behind each door there's an intriguing story I'm curious to know.

Top 10 Black Jackets (nearly black)

I think this is the time of year when you need to add a jacket to your wardrobe because although it's starting to get slightly warmer, it's not quite hot yet that you can venture out without something to cover up.  A jacket is great because it's lightweight and now that there are so many different styles and prints, they really can bring an outfit together.

Now, you may have noticed the title, Top 10 Black Jackets.  Let me highlight the word BLACK.  Yup, it's all about black again.  I can't get enough of black, I'm sorry.  It's my go to colour, it can be worn with anything and it's very slimming too.  I'm not ashamed to admit I wear black everyday, but I also like to inject a bit of colour into my outfit by wearing printed scarves, a coloured cardigan/kimono or jewellery to bring the whole look together.  Which is why you'll also see 'nearly black' in the title too.

If you like black as much as I do then you'll know that sometimes it can be hard to let go of your comfort zone.  You get used to it and wearing brighter colours makes you feel as though you stick out like a sore thumb.  So I've picked out 10 jackets which have some element of black in them, be it a pattern, or a block print.  I couldn't help myself so I have also included an all black jacket, with a difference.  It's all in the detail and if you scroll down, you'll see.

Sisterhood Of The World Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Jadirah from the Jasmine Catches Butterflies blog and thought it would be a good idea to do this tag.  It's such a nice feeling to know that someone I've met on twitter from half way across the world would think of me.  So thank you Jadirah for the tag :)

Top 15 Dresses For Spring

Spring is finally here and that means the sun's going to be out again! My favourite time of the year is definitely spring/summer when the sun's shining and it just feels so much better than the cold, dull dark days of winter.  The bright sunshine makes me feel happy, fresh and makes me want to go for long walks.

But if you're in the UK you'll totally understand me when I say our weather is so unpredictable!!!  For us, the arrival of spring doesn't always mean warmer weather.  Even in summer, you're likely to get all the seasons in one day.  The sun may be out but the rain soon follows.

What actually happened was spring came and along with it winter decided to pay us another visit too!  Although the sun was shining, you won't believe it, but it was also snowing and we got plenty of rain and hail stones too.  It was freezing cold, and so, it wasn't time to ditch the winter woollies just yet, I guess.  But that doesn't mean we can't start shopping for spring can we?

So let's get into the spirit of spring with my top 15 dresses for spring.

Recipe | The Hummingbird Bakery's Chocolate Brownie

I haven't made brownies in a long time and have been wanting to make them for a couple of days now.  So last week, on Sunday, I decided that since I was having a cosy day at home just relaxing, why not bake!  Whilst searching for a recipe I came across The Hummingbird Bakery Brownies recipe and remembered how chocolatey and gooey their brownies were when I went last year.  You can see all my pictures of the Hummingbird Bakery here.  I decided to give this recipe a go and I'm glad I did because they were chewy, chocolatey and very gooey indeed.  Just what you want in a brownie.

Mini Book Haul

I've never done a haul type post before but have always wanted to, so here's my first one.  Last week I popped into my local Waterstones store and although it is pretty small I managed to pick up a book that I've wanted ever since Essie Button mentioned it in her September Beauty Favourites video.

My Zara Wishlist

I'm sure by now you all know how much I love shopping in Zara.  As much as I love shopping and trying on before I buy, unfortunately this time when I popped into Zara it just wasn't happening.  I'd been walking for hours, I was tired, it was boiling hot and there were just too many people in the store.  So I decided to walk out and promised myself that I would check out what's new online instead.  And I wasn't disappointed.  I've picked out a few things that I absolutely love and here they are.

Do You Like Surprises?

As you know from this post that I have been working on launching our first ever subscription box.  I've spent many hours and plenty of late nights putting together The Box.  I never anticipated the amount of work that would be involved in collecting all my ideas together and bringing my vision to life.  Every part of The Box has been designed by me down to the hand printed wrapping paper too.  I'm happy to say that after all the long hours of hard work I finally did it.

100 Random Questions

I don't know about you but I love reading Q&A type posts because you get to know the blogger a bit better and also they're not so serious either.  I'm always curious to see what everyone elses answers are.  So I thought it would be fun to do a Q&A type post for today.  I searched online and found 100 random questions from all over the place and here they are.  I hope you enjoy reading my answers, let me know what you think.

Trekking up The Atlas Mountains in Marrakech

I'm not a walking type of person, I'm more of a car person.  Sounds like I'm just lazy, but to be honest with you I think it's just a habit now.  I take the easy way and use the car instead, even though, when I do walk I feel really good.  It makes me feel a whole lot better about myself and a lot healthier too.  If only I did it more often.

Now that you know I don't really walk as much as I should, it may come as a surprise when I tell you I trekked up the Atlas Mountains when I went on holiday to Marrakech.  Walking up a mountain is something I would never do in a million years here at home.  But going on holiday makes you want to do things you normally wouldn't do.  I'm not going to blame it on the heat.  But I do think it has something to do with being away from home in a totally new and completely different environment.  You feel like learning new things and having new experiences, and I certainly don't want to miss out when I'm away.  I never like to come back and feel like I missed an opportunity I may never get again.

Recipe | Key Lime Pie

So, the other day I was looking through my pictures of all the things that I've baked and came across my yummy key lime pie.  I haven't made this in a while, and remembered that when I first made it how easy it was and how refreshing it tasted too.  It's definitely something I don't usually make but I'm glad I did.  Made me realise it's ok to step out of my comfort zone from time to time.  And so I thought I would share my recipe with you too.  The great thing about this recipe is that you can make it the night before and finish off the next day.  I've found that it tastes even better a day or too later, which is always great IF you have some left over.

10 Things Every Blog Should Have

So for todays post I thought I would share with you what I think every blog should have.  You may or may not agree with me on these things and that's totally fine.  But in my opinion the things I have listed below are very important as it just makes reading a blog and finding out about the person behind the blog a whole lot easier.  You're less likely to be going back and forth and to be honest with you, I think that sometimes not being up to date with the essentials, so to speak, can put people off.  Something I'm pretty sure no blogger wants.

So here they are:

My Top 5 Graphic Tees

Sometimes a simple white tee just won't cut it and that's where a graphic tee comes in.  There are plenty of ways to style a graphic t-shirt, of course, the most obvious one being the jeans and t-shirt combo.

But in my opinion a graphic tee can also be worn with a skirt or even a suit!  It all depends on how you style it and the kind of look you're going for.  You don't have to keep it casual!  Wear it tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt or with a tulle skirt and a leather jacket.

So next time you wear a graphic tee why not try something a little different?  Here are my top 5 picks.

How to Wear A Statement Necklace

Today I thought I would show you how to wear a statement necklace.  A statement necklace is the must have accessory to brighten up any boring outfit.  In my opinion the right statement necklace is your best friend for life.  You don't have to limit yourself to wearing one with just a dress because as you can see below, there are plenty more ways for you to style this versatile piece of jewellery.

I know for some people it can be a little daunting wearing such a big piece of jewellery that screams 'look at me', 'look at me'.  Yes, it's a bold accessory.  I mean, why else would it be called a statement necklace?  But to be honest with you, it all depends on the whole look.  Get it right and you'll feel as comfortable as ever and you'll look great too.  You can even wear them everyday without looking like you're going for a night out!

The great thing about the statement necklace is that it can turn a plain outfit into an amazing one and sometimes it might be the only accessory you need to bring back a dress to life.

The 4 looks I have styled are based around one key piece, a CHAMBRAY SHIRT, a JUMPER, a WHITE T-SHIRT and a DRESS.  So, let me show you how to wear a statement necklace.

My Dream Office

If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll see that I've made a board with some pictures of gorgeous looking work spaces.  I'm totally in love with them all and I'm always dreaming about having my own little space to work in.  It would be amazing to step into my very own office, close the door and just drift away into my work.

Here's an office that is my favourite space........for now.  I say for now, because I'm always changing my mind!  I know when I'm scrolling through Pinterest I'm going to find another one, and then another, and then another one, and........ It's never ending isn't it?  I never get bored of Pinterest! or should I say, I never get BOARD of Pinterest!  See what I did there?!

Anyways, let's get back to this dreamy office I want to show you.

New Gifts In My Store

Lately, I've been working some overtime at Love Hijab HQ as I've been busy sourcing new products to add to my store.  I've always said I wanted it to be different to all the other scarf places online and so I decided to add a few gifty items too.  Along with the usual scarves and statement necklaces I thought a few quirky pieces selected by me, myself and I (the perks of working for yourself!) would be a great addition to Love Hijab in 2015.

I shall leave the links below each item if you wish to head on over to Love Hijab and buy a gift or two for a friend or you.

So here's what's new! Enjoy xx

(Oooh I didn't realise it all rhymed until I read it all again!)

Sold Out? Don't worry! Follow my secret tips and get what you want!

So how many times have you wanted something and it's sold out?  I can tell you it's happened to me plenty of times.  Usually it's during the big old sales.  I've had my eye on something and before you know it, it's gone.  If you're anything like me, in the sense that if you see something you like, then you have to have it no matter what.  And you'll go to great lengths to see if you can find it anywhere else, then this post is just your cup of tea.

How To Design A Pinterest Friendly Image & Pin Your Blog Post

I've been using Pinterest for a while now and absolutely love it!  If you've been reading my blog you'll know exactly how much, because you'll have read about it here.  I love to just pin everything, there's so much on there and I'm sure you will agree with me on that one too!

Just recently I've been pinning my own images.  I've never done this before but since I've started blogging I thought I would make use of this social platform to try and drive more traffic to my blog posts.

Taking a little break

Just in case you're wondering where I've gone, I thought I'd let you know that I'm taking a little break from blogging for a while.  If you've been reading my blog then you'll know that I've been blogging everyday for a month.  Yes that's right. One.  Whole.  Month!

The Dress Over Pants Look

One of the latest trends for this season is the Dress-Over-Pants look.  You may have noticed a lot of girls wearing this look for a long time.  As a Muslim, we are required to cover up so this is one look that many Muslim women wear everyday anyways.  But recently the runways have been filled with this 70's look and you may have even spotted Sarah Jessica Parker showing off this trend too.
