Any colour, as long as it's black

I love the colour black.  No matter what I do, I just can't enough of it!  When I go shopping, if I like something I always feel like I have to buy the black version too.  It's crazy, right!?  Is it just me or do you do the same too?  Nearly everything in my wardrobe is black.  The only downside is when you're going away somewhere or putting laundry away, it's hard to tell what's what, because everything looks the same!  But i know that's not going to stop me.  Nothing will stop me from wearing black, I love it too much!

Pin Cushions

Now, if you're a hijabi you'll know that feeling when you're putting your hijab on, everything looks perfect, and just when you're about to put a pin into can't find it!! It's like having so many grip/kirby pins but somehow they seem to go for a walkabout and disappear never to be seen again.

Well, here at Love Hijab, we have the perfect solution to keep those pesky pins in place.  Our cute handmade pin cushions!!

The Rainbow Quran

When I received my mail yesterday, I was expecting something very special to arrive.  I knew this because sister Nureha from Rainbow Quran had contacted me a few days earlier.

I'm pretty sure everyone knows what the rainbow Quran is, but for those of you who haven't yet come across this beauty, it's a Quran available in many colours with small sections of the pages printed in the colours of the rainbow.

REVIEW: The Moon Boutik

As an abaya wearer, I'm always on the look out for a comfortable, easy to style everyday abaya.  And when I first saw The Moon Boutik abayas on instagram, I was a little sceptical.  I wasn't sure why everyone was giving these abayas a thumbs up.  Did they really mean it or were they just saying it.  I know it sounds harsh on my part, but I've made so many disappointing purchases that I couldn't help but question it.

My Perfume Collection

I have to say I have quite a collection of perfumes, although I have never bought one myself.  They were all gifts from the special people in my life.  Feeling lucky!

Some, I have completely finished and others are still nearly full.  I tend to stick to the one I like most at any one time and use that, and then move on to another .  By the looks of things I still have to try quite few more!

I prefer subtle scents that aren't too overpowering.  Fresh and floral remind me of the summer, and a hint of sweet is fine too.  I tend not to go for the stronger scents because I find that it can be a bit too much.

The added bonus of a beautiful perfume is the bottle!! How gorgeous are they!  No wonder I have quite a collection, who can blame me! I have a good excuse!  I love having the bottles on display and rearrange them all the time.

The best thing about it is when you can smell the fragrance.....mmmm...just divine!!  My little glamorous space in my room just for me.

Love Hijab: The Makeover

Now I'm the type of person that gets bored very easily and so I felt that it was time to make a few changes.  It's been just over a year since I started Love Hijab and although I love my first design, I felt that I wanted something a bit more cleaner and sleeker.

It's taken me a few weeks to re-design the new image and website and I have to say i'm pretty pleased with the result. For me this is a big acheivement because I've done it all by myself, from the logo, colours, pics to the website design, icons and everything in between!

Now that everything including my business cards and leaflets are ready its time to show you guys the new look!  I hope you like it as much as I do.  So here it is:

DIY: Bracelet

Who doesn't love a bit of arm candy? Something sparkly or maybe something casual, whatever you decide I'm sure it will add that extra special finishing touch to your outfit.

What makes something even more special is knowing that you made it yourself and it looks amazing too.

So here's a little pictorial of how you can customize a bracelet that looks the part and won't break the bank either!!

Let me know if you give this a try, would love to see them.

Post your pics up on instagram and tag me @lovehijabgirl and @love_hijab

See the World

"I would gladly live out of a suitcase if it meant I could see the world"

If I could travel the world, I certainly would. Who wouldn't want to escape the everyday routine and set off on an adventure to discover the natural beauty and wonders of this beautiful world.

I've been to some amazing places and have enjoyed seeing the beauty, soaking up the atmosphere and living a dream.  I wouldn't mind going back!

Here are some places that I would gladly add to my ever growing list

Love Hijab: Sneaky Peak at our New Collection

So our latest collection has arrived!! I must say, I'm very excited about this collection of hijabs/scarves.  We have some amazing new styles from florals to geometric and the very popular ombre designs too.  But before I put them up on our website, here's a little sneaky peak at what we have in store for you.

The new collection will be available on Love Hijab next week, so keep a look out!

Add a Pop of Colour

When it comes to interior design, I usually like to stay safe with neutral colours.  I prefer to use accessories to add a pop of colour, because I get bored very quickly.

The other day, I was browsing the internet, as you do and came across these very inspirational home interiors.  I have to say I was blown away at how colour had been added in very clever ways to make the space come to life!  I'm totally doing this in my home.  I would be mad not to!

Just shows you don't need to stick to the same old, same old.  It's ok to get out of your comfort zone and live a little, right?

Shoes with Soul

Sometimes your best finds are the ones you discover by accident!  And that's exactly how I came across these very unique and bold shoes by TaylorSays.

The artist behind TaylorsSays heels is Taylor Reeve, an american high heel designer.  With her creative flair Taylors taking wearable art to the next level.  "My high heels are all about having fun, expressing yourself and living it up!"

Although I love Christian Louboutin shoes, especially for the red soles, these are just something else altogether!

Let the lady do the walking and the soul do the talking!

This is the season to stand out! And what's the best way to do it? Wear a statement necklace with a plain outfit to give it that extra touch of glamour.  Who knew that just one piece of jewellery could completely transform your style.  What's more, you can also layer the statement necklaces to really make it your own.
